Constitutional Liberty and Economic Common Sense

“It’s the Constitution’s fault.”

Hayes

For all those who can get past his snarky attitude, his holier-than-thou persona and belief that he is the smartest ‘whoa-man’, next to Rachel Maddow, Chris Hayes is most often rambling on about something that makes little coherent sense to those of us with an IQ above 85 (average IQ).  The majority of his viewers are far left so they eat up what he spits out without regard for facts and this is not meant to knock their IQ (or…?).  But to shed some quick light into the view of the world that Chris ascribes to I have provided commentary from ‘scholars’ or ‘elite’ that liberals hold in high regard.

Pres. Obama: “Well, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change that I would like sometimes. But what I have been able to do is move in the right direction. And what I’m going to keep on doing is plot away, very persistent. You know what? One of the things about being President is you get better as time goes on.” (Feb 2012)

Georgetown Law School professor Louis Seidman, in December 2012, wrote an New York Times op-ed today entitled “Let’s Give Up on the Constitution.”  The first paragraph reads:  “As the nation teeters at the edge of fiscal chaos, observers are reaching the conclusion that the American system of government is broken. But almost no one blames the culprit: our insistence on obedience to the Constitution, with all its archaic, idiosyncratic and downright evil provisions.”

Ezra Klein: “The issue with the Constitution is that the text is confusing because it was written more than a hundred years ago.”

Janeane Garafolo: “Our country is founded on a sham: Our forefathers were slave-owning rich white guys who wanted it their way. So when I see the American flag, I go, ‘Oh my God, you’re insulting me.’”

Nancy Pelosi: “We avow the First Amendment. We stand with that and say that people have a right to have a gun to protect themselves. in their homes and their jobs, whatever, and that they — and the workplace and that they, for recreation and hunting and the rest.”

Now comes Chris Hayes, to make sure the idiot parade doesn’t go without a captain for their oversized float of self-rightesouness as they tumble down the path of self loathing “archaic” or “confusing” laws written with quill in parchment over light emanating from a  whale oil  lantern.  Also he wanted to make sure he can be lumped in with the absurdity of what the left says and thinks about the document our founding fathers created, after much labor, toil and blood was shed.  The genesis for our country’s basis

Hayes declared: “We are right now, as we speak, as you listen to my voice, headed towards a full-blown constitutional crisis,” and attached this belief to a “growing consensus” of “extremely astute political observers.”  Who are these “extremely astute observers” you ask?   None other than those at that write for such constitutionally principled publications as The Washington Post, Slate, and New York magazine.  Hayes continues, that “the political dysfunction that has brought about the shutdown and now threatens default, isn’t so much gridlock. It is exposing the fatal flaw in our Constitution and highly distinct system of government.”

“In other words, it’s the Constitution’s fault,” said Hayes, “and something truly catastrophic was bound to happen sooner or later.”

Sadly, his commentary isn’t the most depressing thing about his thoughts on the topic.  What is even more sad is that only 965,000 viewers watched his program two nights ago, which is actually a good number for him.  So he is  actually thriving in this “constitutional crisis”.  Expect more absurd statements to flow freely from his tongue as he vilifies all things “constitutional” or “lawful” that doesn’t conform to his ideology.
